Job ummary Events for Life is a charitable organization that offers day programs, four days per week, which provide social, recreational and healthy living skills to adults with special needs (ww w.e ventsfo.life). We are seeking a part-time Executive Director to lead our organization while our current Executive Director is o n medicl leave. We are looking for a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to lead our organization with passion, strategic insight, and a commitment to excellence. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the overall operations, foster strong community relationships, and drive the organization’s mission forward. Your leadership will inspire teams, manage resources effectively, and ensure that programs deliver meaningful impact. Leadershi & Strategy • Provide leadership to the Program Director , & Office Aministrator. • Collaborate with the Board of Directors to support the organization’s strategic plan and implem ent organizationl priorities. • Foster a positive, supportive, sa f e and accountble workp lac e. Operations Administration • In partnership with the Program Dir e ctor, define stff requirements. • In partnership with the Program Director, oversee the volunteers and ensure there is appropriate recruiting, orientation , t raining, recogniton and placement. • Engage directly with the parents of our participants t o ensure their exectations are met. • Ensure team building and co-operation between Board of Directors, Committee m emb ers, parents, voluneers and employees. • Supervise and support Program Director and Office Administrator, including performance management and profssional development. • Ensure strong administrative sy stems and effective iternal communication. • Manage Benefits, Payroll and In s urance Plans for orgaization and employees. • Maintain and update Business Resumption Planning, Human Reso urc es, Operations and S uccssion Planning Manuas. Financial Management • Develop and manage the annual budget in collabo ra tion with the Program saff, Treasurer and Board. • Oversee financial rep ort ing, controls, and long-tem sustain a bility planning. • Overse 3rd Party Accounting firm. • Ensure re sponsible stewardship of donr fun d s and grant resources. Fundaising & Community Engagement • Lead fundraising strategy, inclu din g donor relations, grant writig, and community partnerships. • Serve a s the primary spokesperson and mbassador for the organization. • Build strong relati ons hips with families, partners, fuders, and the broader community. • Help plan, support and coordinate fundraising events and community enga g ement activities working with comittees, volunteers, and sponsors
• Support the l aunch of a Giving Soiety to major onors and prospects Qualifications • P roven leadership experience in thenonprofit or social services sector. • Experience working wit h i ndividuals with disabilities or in comunity-based programmi n g is an asset. • Strong financial lieracy and experience managing budgets.
• Demonstrated success in fundraising, dnor relations, or community engagem e nt. • Excellent communication, interpesonal, and relat ion ship building skills. • Ability to work ollaboratively with a Board of Directors. • Post secondary education in a relevant field (e.g., s o cial se rvic es, nonprofit management, eduction, communty development) is preferred. About Events for Life Centre Inc.
Events for Life is a year round program that provides social, recreational and life long learning skills to individuals 21 years and older with special needs. The program operates out of two facilities in Thornbury, ON. There are currently 36 participants in the program who come for a minimum of two days Monday through Friday. Events for Life employs 8 staff and has a network of over 20 volunteers from the local community. Participants come from Owen Sound, Meaford, Thornbury, Collingwood and the surrounding areas. A grass routes program founded in 2013, EFL has grown from 6 individuals during the first summer to 36 participants year round with a growing waitlist. EFL relies on generous community member and family donations and the support of various Foundations to sustain it's business.
