About the role

Job Description Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Reporting, the Senior Financial Analyst is part of the reporting team that consolidates and analyzes the results of Extendicare's lines of business and prepares reports for internal and external purposes, and will be responsible for providing accurate and timely accounting and reporting, while ensuring that the company’s policies are being followed. This position will be located at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario and will have flexibility for both remote and in-office work based on our hybrid work model. Key responsibilities include: Assist in the preparation of interim and annual financial statements and note disclosures, as well as other company filings such as the MD&A Prepare quarterly presentation materials to senior management and board of directors. Prepare and review consolidated results, including detailed analysis of the impact of new IFRS standards on the company's financial statements and other filings. Manage internal and external auditors’ requests where required and as directed Execute period end closing activities and complete month-end close checklists. Perform variance analysis of budget, forecast and prior year and prepare period end reports. Complete balance reconciliations and provide commentary on balance sheet variances. Identify and, with manager support, work towards improvement initiatives in accounting and financial reporting. Complete other duties as assigned. What we’re looking for: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting and CPA 3-5 years’ experience in finance and/or accounting related role. Audit experience at a top public accounting firm with Canadian Public company experience an asset. Strong communication skills with the ability to multitask in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
