About the role
Summary: Support the organization's financial planning and analysis activities by developing financial models, preparing budgets and forecasts, and analyzing financial performance through variance analysis and KPI reporting. Provide accurate monthly financial reporting and strategic insights to senior leadership, support business case development, and monitor industry trends to inform financial planning and business decision-making.
Responsibilities: Participate in the preparation of the company's annual budgets Create and manage complex, multi-source financial models using Power BI, Power Query for budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis to predict future financial performance Analyze financial data to identify trends, assess performance, and pinpoint areas for improvement, efficiency, and cost optimization Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast, conducting variance analyses and providing insights to guide strategic adjustments Prepare monthly management reporting packages with clear variance analysis and insightful financial reports for senior leadership, executive teams and the board of directors Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) that track financial health and strategic progress Collaborate with senior leadership to help develop and assess business cases for strategic initiatives and investments, including assessing their financial impact Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to support strategic decision-making
Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Financial Analyst. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related field. Experience in the construction industry, with a preference for multifamily residential renovation projects. Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Experience developing and maintaining complex financial models. Strong understanding of financial accounting principles. Strong knowledge of ERP systems; experience with NetSuite is preferred. Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including expert-level knowledge of DAX and Power Query (M) for complex data modelling and data transformation. Strong command of Power Query for data extraction, cleansing, and transformation. Working knowledge of NetSuite for integrating financial and operational data. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and financial modelling. Proven ability to collaborate with and present financial information to project managers, accountants, senior executives, and the Board of Directors. Demonstrated ability to manage and analyze multiple datasets across projects and reporting periods. Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
