Fund Accountant
About the role
Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Fund Operations and Reporting Specialist on behalf of a global financial services firm. This role is an opportunity to build a long-term career within a growing global investment organization. While fund accounting forms the foundation of the position, the scope extends well beyond day-to-day operations. You will help ensure the accuracy of critical fund information while contributing to projects, process improvements, and initiatives that support the firm's continued growth. Working alongside colleagues across multiple international offices, you will gain exposure to a wide range of investment operations and have the opportunity to take ownership of increasingly complex responsibilities as your experience grows.
Responsibilities Prepare daily fund valuations and calculate net asset values (NAVs). Complete reconciliations and validate security pricing to ensure accurate fund reporting. Process fund expenses, fee payments, and other operational activities. Prepare annual and semi-annual financial statements for investment funds. Deliver timely and accurate reporting to internal stakeholders and external partners. Manage assigned operational work streams, including areas such as financial reporting, tax support, audit coordination, corporate actions, or fee administration. Investigate technical accounting and operational issues and recommend practical solutions. Partner with technology teams to improve systems, automate processes, and enhance reporting. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, controls, and overall operational effectiveness. Collaborate with colleagues across global offices and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements CPA designation or near completion. Minimum of two years of public accounting experience with audit or tax exposure. Big Four experience is considered an asset. Strong interest in investment management and financial markets. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. High attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work. Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Comfortable managing changing priorities and solving complex challenges. Interest in using AI and technology to improve business processes is considered an asset.
Remuneration Base salary of $90,000 to $115,000, depending on experience.
