Job details
ICC Canada is looking for an experienced bookkeeper to steward the finances of a small, mission-driven Christian charity. Part-time contract, approx. 10–15 hours/week | Hybrid, Burnaby, BC | $25,000–$30,000 annual contract budget ABOUT US International China Concern (ICC) is a global Christian development organization bringing love, hope and opportunity to children with disabilities and their families in China. ICC Canada is one of seven offices around the world. We resource ICC's work in China through fundraising and awareness raising, and we're a registered charity with the CRA. THE ROLE You'll look after ICC Canada's day-to-day finances, working closely with our Executive Director, Administrator, Board and ICC's international finance team. It's a chance to help shape the finance function of a small, growing office, not simply maintain it. The role is hybrid, ideally with one day a week at our Burnaby office, with flexibility for the right candidate. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Full-cycle bookkeeping in Sage 50: AP/AR, journal entries, bank and credit card reconciliations, deposits and petty cash - Coordinate payroll for a small team (fewer than 10) through a third-party provider - Prepare GST/HST, payroll and WorkSafeBC remittances, and liaise with CRA - Month-end reporting, and a monthly finance review with the Executive Director - Support the annual budget, the T3010 charity return and the external audit - Process international transfers to ICC International and keep intercompany accounts reconciled - Help us improve our financial systems and processes over time WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - At least 3 years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience, ideally with a charity, nonprofit or church - Formal accounting or bookkeeping training, or equivalent practical experience - Sage 50 proficiency (Xero or similar also considered), and solid Excel skills - Working knowledge of Canadian charity compliance: CRA, GST/HST, payroll remittances and T3010 - Comfort working in Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams) As a Christian organization, we'd love this person to share our faith. At a minimum, they'll need to be comfortable working within ICC's Christian culture, vision and mission, and have a heart for the children we serve. SAFEGUARDING ICC is committed to the safety and wellbeing of every child we serve. The successful candidate will complete a criminal record check, reference checks and safeguarding training. CONTRACT DETAILS This is a contractor role. You'll invoice ICC Canada and be responsible for your own GST/HST registration, CPP contributions and taxes. HOW TO APPLY Apply here with your CV. We'd also love a short cover letter telling us why ICC's mission resonates with you. You can upload it with your application or email it to canada@chinaconcern.org with the subject line "Finance Manager Application – [Your Name]".
