OBJECTIVE Reporting to the Director of Food Safety and Compliance, the Supplier Quality Auditor is responsible for evaluating EarthFresh suppliers, growers, packing facilities, and products to ensure they meet established criteria for food safety, product quality, social compliance, regulatory compliance and customer expectations. QUALIFICATIONS Education: Post-secondary education in Food Science, Quality Assurance, Environmental Science, or a related field. Familiarity with GFSI schemes, organic certification, and supplier audit processes. Experience & Skills: 3+ years in quality assurance, fresh produce experience strongly preferred. Strong understanding of Canadian and US regulatory requirements. Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and recordkeeping. Strong project management and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Effective communication and relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and digital documentation systems (e.g., SharePoint, Smartsheet, or similar). Ability to travel domestically and internationally (50% Canada/50% US) PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct on-site supplier audits and assessments covering: Food safety/HACCP systems GMP and GAP Sanitation and hygiene Traceability and recall Regulatory and customer requirements Social compliance and worker welfare Conduct product inspections, including: Defects Sizing Appearance Labelling Packaging Overall marketability Support investigations into supplier-related issues, customer complaints, rejections, recurring defects. Identify trends in supplier performance concerns and improve incoming product quality. Maintain supplier audit schedules, performance records and corrective action tracking. Develop and maintain supplier scorecards and performance metrics. Work collaboratively with Procurement, Quality, Operations and suppliers. Support new supplier qualifications and approval processes. Perform other duties as required by the Director of Food Safety and Compliance.
