The Catholic Independent Schools of Vancouver Archdiocese are group one independent schools, receiving 50% operational funding from the ministry of education. All schools teach the prescribed ministry of education curriculum. Teachers are paid according to the qualifications and years of experience. Teachers are also eligible for the Group Benefits Program that provides medical, dental, other extended health benefits, plus a defined contribution (DC) Group Pension Plan. Teachers interested in making a career with CISVA should apply to the Superintendent's Office. Support staff, including Education Assistants, should apply directly to the individual schools. It is the responsibility of each teacher applicant to ensure that the following documents accompany their application. The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounts payable and receivable, and reconciling bank statements. They also handle payroll information, track school expenses, and prepare financial reports for the school's accountant.
