Bookkeeper (Financial Clerk) Location: Brokenhead Ojibway Nation - BON Dev Employment Type: Full-Time Position Overview BON Development Corporation is looking for an organized and dependable person to join our team as a Bookkeeper We encourage Brokenhead Ojibway Nation members to apply. You do not need to know everything on day one. If you are comfortable using a computer, enjoy working with numbers, are organized, willing to learn, and take pride in your work, we want to hear from you. Training and support will be provided to help you succeed. In this role, you will help keep the financial records for the retail business operations accurate and up to date. You will work closely with the management team to ensure bills are paid, sales are recorded correctly, employees are paid on time, and financial information is organized. What You’ll Do As the Bookkeeper, you will help with tasks such as: Record daily sales and payments from the hotel, restaurant, and lounge. Balance cash, debit, credit card, and POS (cash register) reports. Process invoices from suppliers and help ensure bills are paid on time. Prepare customer invoices and follow up on outstanding payments. Help process employee payroll every two weeks. Keep employee payroll and benefit records up to date. Assist with tracking inventory and business expenses. Help prepare monthly financial reports for management. File GST, PST, Accommodation Tax, and other required government reports. Reconcile bank accounts, gift cards, and other financial records. Work with the front desk, managers, suppliers, and accountants to ensure records are accurate. Maintain organized files and financial documents. Look into any financial differences or errors and help resolve them. Perform other bookkeeping and office duties as required. Education & Experience The ideal candidate will have: A bookkeeping, accounting, business, or office administration certificate or diploma or relevant work experience. Experience with bookkeeping, payroll, office administration, or accounts payable/receivable is considered an asset but is not required.
