Job summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk to join our team. This role would report to the Senior Payroll & Billing Specialist and is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll and client invoicing for temporary and contract employees. The successful candidate will ensure payroll compliance, maintain billing records, and provide exceptional internal and external customer service. This role will be full-time at our downtown Calgary office location for the first 3 months with the option of transitioning into a hybrid role after that (2 days per week in office). Key Responsibilities High volume desk and processing payrolls on different pay cycles: weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly and monthly Process weekly payroll for up to 300 temporary and contract employees using Sage 300. Collect and maintain payroll documentation, including tax forms, direct deposit information, and other employee records. Enter and update employee payroll information accurately within Sage 300. Utilize Bullhorn One electronic timekeeping systems to review and process employee timesheets. Calculate payroll adjustments, including wage increases, retroactive pay, statutory holiday pay, overtime, and other earnings adjustments. Prepare and issue Records of Employment (ROEs) as required. Maintain current knowledge of federal and provincial employment standards and payroll legislation. Manage and maintain billing data to generate accurate client invoices on weekly, bi-weekly, four-weekly, and monthly billing cycles. Respond to payroll and billing inquiries from employees, clients, and internal stakeholders. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications & Experience Required Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience. Billing experience is also an asset. PCP completed or actively working toward PCP completion. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and customer service skills. Preferred Assets Experience with Sage 300. Experience with Bullhorn One. Experience with Microsoft Business Central. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
