Job summary
The Accounts Receivable Agent is responsible for performing collections and managing the receivable accounts of West Edmonton Mall. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintaining a portfolio of AR Files with tenants of West Edmonton Mall, collecting as per the lease agreement. Key responsibilities include reconciliation of complex tenant accounts and following up on the collection and allocation of payments. Reviewing lease requirements while communicating and explaining to a variety of tenants which payments are due. Verifying and preparing invoices, bank deposits, sorting and posting incoming customer cheques, preparing daily cash reports, posting credit memos, assisting with client dispute resolution, and processing adjustments. Performing detailed and accurate transferences of the key elements contained in the terms and conditions of lease agreements to the accounting software system. Interpreting complex lease language and understanding complex lease calculations, including but not limited to percentage rent, CPI increases, property tax allocations. Assisting with issue resolutions and processing adjustments while reviewing, advising, or adjusting any inconsistencies and invoices accordingly. Various administrative duties such as maintaining filing and record systems, faxing, photocopying, and scanning. Other responsibilities as required. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Two (2) to three (3) years’ experience in an accounting or accounts receivable based role. Completion of a post-secondary diploma in accounting through a recognized post-secondary institution is considered an asset. A professional attitude and demeanor with excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills and a strong attention to accuracy in the workplace. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel and Word with the ability to adapt to other software programs as required. Previous experience working with commercial lease agreements and direct experience performing commercial collections is a definite asset. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a full-time position that must be available Monday through Friday. This position may be eligible for participation in our 4-day work week program, subject to operational requirements. This is a salaried position that will depend on experience and qualifications. Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.

Requirements
Candidates should have 2 to 3 years of experience in accounting or accounts receivable, preferably with commercial lease and collections experience. A post-secondary diploma in accounting and proficiency in Microsoft Office are highly desired.
