We work with a wide range of clients including entrepreneurs, start-ups, private businesses, owner-managers, Canada-US cross border clients and high net worth individuals to help them with tax efficient strategies. Our services include accounting and assurance, Canadian personal and corporate tax, GST/HST, payroll and US personal and corporate tax. We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team to work from our Etobicoke office (Hwy 401 and 427). What you can expect to gain valuable experience on: Preparation and review of corporate income tax returns (T2); Preparation and review of compilation engagements (NTR); Preparation and review of personal income tax returns (T1); Preparation of U.S. Personal Tax returns (1040) and applicable state returns; Preparation of U.S. Corporate Tax returns (1120, 1120-S, and 1120-F) and applicable state returns; Review of various information returns such as T4s, T5s, T4As, NR4s, and others; Assisting with CRA reviews, audits, and other ad hoc projects; Mentoring and providing guidance to junior staff members; Performing tax research and assisting with tax planning opportunities; Communicating directly with clients regarding accounting and tax matters. What you bring to VAPC: Minimum of 5 years of tax and accounting experience with a Canadian CPA firm is required; U.S. tax experience is required; Strong knowledge of accounting softwares, including QuickBooks, CaseWare, TaxPrep, and CCH Axcess; Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word; Strong project management and organizational skills; CPA designation or actively pursuing completion of the designation; Ability to work independently and manage multiple engagements simultaneously; Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills; Positive attitude and desire to learn and grow professionally; Excellent communication skills — interpersonal, verbal, and written.
