Job summary
Looking for a Senior Cost Accountant who will be managing the organization’s standard costing framework and driving accurate financial reporting for manufacturing operations. This role partners closely with finance, operations, and supply chain teams to provide insights into cost structures, inventory performance, and profitability, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. Requirements 1. Cost Accounting & Financial Reporting Review and maintain standard costs (material, labor, overhead) Prepare journal entries and reconcile inventory to the balance sheet Analyze gross margin, cost of sales, and inventory trends Support audits, financial disclosures, and SOX compliance Partner with manufacturing and business teams on cost analysis 2. Inventory Management Support physical inventory counts and reconciliations (SAP) Monitor inventory movements and P&L impact Validate vendor and logistics reconciliations 3. Reporting & Analysis Validate GAAP and non-GAAP cost of sales Perform product and customer margin analysis Analyze production and purchasing variances (PPV, production orders) Reconcile financial data across P&L accounts and business units 4. Business Processes Support month-end close, including production order settlements Maintain cost structures, overhead rates, and material updates Assist with standard cost updates, including bi-annual cost rolls Requirements 6+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment Strong understanding of end-to-end manufacturing and cost of sales Hands-on experience with journal entries and reconciliations Expertise in manufacturing variances and inventory valuation Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) Knowledge of SOX compliance Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Preferred SAP experience Background in semiconductor or electronics manufacturing Exposure to FP&A or advanced data analysis Experience with standard costing systems
