If you share our values and would like to work with skilled professionals, Armour is presently seeking a Sr Accountant Reporting to the Real Estate Controller, the Senior Accountant is an integral member of the finance team. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the organization’s property and construction accounting processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for full cycle accounting for a portfolio of properties as well as construction project reporting. As a Sr Accountant, you’ll get to: Alongside the Real Estate Controller, takes ownership of the full cycle accounting activities for the commercial and residential property portfolio, with a focus on commercial buildings. Monitor and account for construction projects, including tracking project costs, assisting with monthly draws and reporting, and supporting job creation and close out processes. Deliver timely financial reports including comprehensive quarterly financial statements, with variance analysis commentary. Coach, train and oversee the activities of the Junior Analyst and assist in their career development. Assist in annual budget and reforecasting preparation. Review of leases and related documentation and ensuring Armour Group and tenants are operating within the confines of those documents. Coordinate with operations team to ensure all possible revenues are captured and seamless correspondence with tenants. Assist in delivering on the year end audit. Assist in annual property tax submissions. Prepare summary and analysis on other available data to support efficient property operations. Other ad hoc projects as required. What we’re looking for: Strong grasp of commercial and residential property accounting. Capability and work ethic to manage multiple priorities in a diverse, yet demanding work environment. Ability to understand complex issues and implement creative problem-solving strategies to resolve them. Strong verbal and written communication skills. A dedicated team player who takes ownership of their assigned tasks. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with the ability to leverage these tools when executing on deliverables. The ability to think about the ‘big picture’ and identify opportunities for process improvements. Excellent interpersonal skills, and a proactive approach to working with others and sharing information. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Education/Experience: Degree in finance, business or commerce. 5+ years full cycle property accounting experience. MBA, CFA, or CPA designation or in-progress would be considered an asset. Requirements
