Build Your Career. Have a Voice. Become a Partner. Are you an experienced CPA who has reached the point where you want more than a title and a paycheque? Maybe you've been with your current firm for years, you're doing the work of a senior leader, but there isn't a clear path forward. Maybe you're ready to have a greater say in how a firm operates, build client relationships, mentor a team, and ultimately have an ownership stake in the business. Sound CPA is offering something different. We are a growing, independent CPA firm in Grey Bruce looking for an experienced CPA / Senior Manager who wants to play a significant role in the future of the firm, with a clear path to partnership within one year. The Opportunity This isn't a position where you'll simply inherit a portfolio and be told how things have always been done. We are looking for someone who wants to help shape the next chapter of Sound CPA. You will have the opportunity to: Take a leadership role in the firm's operations and strategic direction Have a meaningful voice in how the firm is run Help develop and implement new processes, technology and service offerings Build and manage strong client relationships Mentor and develop our accounting team Participate in hiring, performance management and team development Help identify opportunities for growth and improve firm profitability Develop your own client base and areas of specialization Work directly with the partners on major business decisions Progress toward partnership within approximately 12 months, subject to mutual fit and agreed-upon terms Compensation Base Salary: $115,000 – $125,000 In addition to competitive compensation, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to transition into firm ownership within one year, creating the potential for long-term financial upside through partnership rather than simply continuing to trade time for salary. We are prepared to have an open conversation about what partnership could look like, including responsibilities, ownership structure and buy-in. We believe a small firm can provide something larger firms often can't: a genuine opportunity to make a difference. At Sound CPA, you won't be one of dozens of managers competing for the next promotion. You'll have the opportunity to work directly with the partners, influence decisions and see your ideas implemented. If you have ever thought: "I know how I would run this differently if I had the opportunity." We want to hear from you. Who We're Looking For We are looking for an experienced CPA who is: A designated CPA in good standing Experienced in public accounting Comfortable managing a diverse portfolio of corporate and personal clients Confident communicating directly with business owners and professionals A strong technical accountant with sound professional judgment Interested in leadership and developing people Entrepreneurial and commercially minded Comfortable taking ownership and making decisions Looking for a long-term career rather than simply another job We would particularly like to hear from someone who feels there is limited room for growth in their current firm and is ready for the next stage of their career. What Success Looks Like During your first year, you will work closely with the partners to understand the firm, our clients and our goals while taking an increasingly significant leadership role. By the end of the first year, our goal is for you to be in a position to transition into partnership with a clear understanding of: Your ownership opportunity Your role and responsibilities as a partner Your compensation and profit-sharing structure Your client development expectations Your role in the firm's strategic direction The Sound CPA Difference Our clients span virtually every sector of the economy, from established businesses connected to the nuclear industry and major infrastructure projects, to construction, professional services, agriculture, manufacturing, retail, real estate, not-for-profits and innovative online and technology-based business. Come help us build the firm you want to work for, and ultimately own. If you're currently at a larger firm and feel like you're becoming another number, or you're at a smaller firm where the ownership path isn't realistic, Sound CPA may be the opportunity you've been waiting for. Why Make the Move? From a career perspective: You could spend the next several years waiting for the next management or partnership opportunity or you could join a growing firm where and your ideas can directly influence how the business operates. From a lifestyle perspective: You can have the career progression and earning potential of a larger centre while enjoying the advantages of living in Grey Bruce. From a personal perspective: Whether you're single and looking for a change, building a life with a partner, or thinking about starting a family, Owen Sound offers the opportunity to put down roots without giving up career ambition.
