Job summary
Sailun Tire Americas – Senior General Accountant (Mandarin Speaking) Position Reporting To – Manager, General Ledger Summary/Objective Reporting to the GL Manager, this position performs professional accounting work involving compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data. May include any, or all of, the following: ledgers and preparation of journal entries; fixed asset or inventory accounting; preparation of trial balance or financial statements; cost accounting; bank account reconciliation. Has a good knowledge of the organization's existing systems and the ability to handle most regular issues independently. Essential Functions Prepare and maintain the month end, quarter end and year end closing entries and account reconciliations for various global entities Assist in the preparation of monthly management/departmental reports as required Assist in the external and internal audit process and annual tax returns Prepare/oversee various monthly filings including HST, regulatory and other business compliance filings Liaison with other departments across the company to ensure timely and accurate financial results Continuously improve operational and financial accounting processes and challenge status quo Support the finance team on various ad-hoc projects Travel May require 10% North America travel Skills and Qualifications Strong technical knowledge of ASPE and IFRS. Must be able to work effectively in a team-based collaborative environment. Demonstrates ownership of assigned responsibilities with a positive self-starter attitude. Strong communication skills both written and verbal. Able to work independently with minimal direction but also recognizes when to ask for direction when needed. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail Required Education and Experience Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance CPA/CGA/CA Designation or nearing completion 4+ years of progressive experience in a similar role (industry or public practice) Strong experience in working in a Global multi-entity environment is an asset Solid experience with ERP system (PowerBI, SAP and Microsoft Dynamics (Navision) - desirable Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; SAP and Microsoft Navision (preferred but not required) Experience in delivering timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis
