Senior Accountant — High-Impact Finance Opportunity Edmonton, AB Are you a Senior Accountant who wants to be more than just the person behind the numbers? We’re working with a growing, well-established organization that is looking to add a Senior Accountant to its finance team. This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible role where you’ll have a direct impact on financial reporting, business performance, systems, and decision-making. Reporting directly to the CFO, you’ll take ownership of the month-end close while also getting involved in budgeting, forecasting, project accounting, cash management, financial analysis, and process improvement. This is a role for someone who enjoys owning their work, asking questions, improving processes, and partnering with the business and not simply checking boxes. What You’ll Be Doing Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, financial statements, and supporting schedules. Analyze financial performance, project margins, overhead, and budget variances to identify trends and provide actionable recommendations. Support annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and ongoing financial planning initiatives. Manage and monitor accounts receivable, collections, cash flow, and working capital. Take ownership as the finance ERP super user, supporting reporting, dashboards, master data, job close processes, and system improvements. Participate in monthly WIP and project reviews, partnering with Project Accountants and operational teams to understand project performance. Develop and maintain financial dashboards and KPI reporting that give leadership greater visibility into business performance. Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Support year-end audits, including preparing schedules, documentation, and working directly with external auditors. What We’re Looking For You’ll ideally have: A CPA designation or strong progress toward your CPA. Several years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a project-driven, construction, engineering, manufacturing, or similarly complex environment. Strong month-end close and financial reporting experience. Experience with WIP, project accounting, job costing, or project financial analysis is highly valued. Strong Excel and financial analysis capabilities. Why This Opportunity?
