Accounting Assistant Salary: $50,000 - $65,000 Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in office) Our client, a growing professional services organization, is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join their team. This position offers a blend of accounting, billing, project administration, and office support responsibilities, making it an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and working closely with both finance and operations teams. Responsibilities Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions, including collections and account follow-up. Set up and maintain projects within the billing and accounting systems. Prepare and process monthly project progress billings. Review timesheets, expenses, and project costs to ensure accurate billing. Verify vendor invoices and employee expense reports for accuracy and proper allocation. Assist with proposal preparation, contract administration, and project documentation. Support month-end billing activities and maintain accurate accounting records. Provide general administrative and office support as required. Qualifications 3+ years of accounting experience, including exposure to AP, AR, billing, and reconciliations. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Experience with project billing, progress billing, time and expense tracking, or professional services accounting is highly preferred. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Experience within project-based industries such as architecture, engineering, design, consulting, construction, or similar environments would be considered an asset.
