Job summary

Our client, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their finance team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with manufacturing industry experience who is looking to take the next step in their career and has either obtained their CPA designation or is actively pursuing/working toward their CPA. The successful candidate will have strong full-cycle accounting experience, excellent attention to detail, and an understanding of the financial processes unique to a manufacturing environment, including inventory, costing, and production-related accounting. Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and reporting packages. Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures. Prepare and maintain account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Monitor and analyze inventory balances, transactions, and adjustments. Support product costing, manufacturing variances, and cost-of-goods-sold analysis. Work closely with operations and production teams to ensure accurate financial reporting. Assist with cash flow management and working capital reporting. Prepare GST/HST and other applicable tax filings. Assist with audit and year-end requirements. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting. Provide financial analysis and insights to management as required. Assist with ad hoc accounting and finance projects. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Previous manufacturing experience is required. CPA designation or actively pursuing the CPA program is strongly preferred. Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and month-end close processes. Experience with inventory accounting, costing, and manufacturing variances. Strong Excel skills and experience working with accounting/ERP systems. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Strong communication and organizational skills.

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, specifically within a manufacturing environment. A CPA designation or active pursuit of the CPA program is strongly preferred.
