This Junior Accountant/Accounts Payable position reports to the Controller and works closely with the executive team on daily bookkeeping, quarterly and annual reports, and financial management. The Junior Accountant/Accounts Payable will collaborate directly with various business functions and play an important role in delivering accurate financial records. What you will get. This position offers the opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of accounting functions, including payroll supporting, while in a collaborate and fast-paced environment. Responsibilities. · Manage the monthly accounts payable cycle, ensuring timely payments and accurate bank reconciliations. · Assist with the full accounting cycle including, month-end process, non-routine accounting transactions, and quarter-end financial reporting. · Support the annual audit process by providing required documentation and responding to auditor requests. · Ensure proper approvals, documentation, and adherence to internal controls. · Constantly look out for process improvement opportunities using workflow automation and AI-powered tools. · Respond to inquiries from vendors and team members · Prepare regulatory filings and support special projects as requested. Candidate Characteristics. Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping or a related field. Prior experience working with accounts payable or accounting. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A team player with the ability to work independently and think proactively. Flexible and willing to work extended hours during reporting periods. Strong Excel skills and experience with QuickBooks Online is an asset. How to Apply. What you’ll do
The Junior Accountant/Accounts Payable will manage the monthly accounts payable cycle and assist with the full accounting cycle, including month-end processes and financial reporting. They will also support the annual audit process and ensure adherence to internal controls.
Requirements
Candidates should have post-secondary education in Accounting or a related field and prior experience in accounts payable or accounting. Strong Excel skills and experience with QuickBooks Online are preferred, along with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
