Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Payroll Specialist will lead and consult on complex human resource services centered in the payroll domain for the United States. In this role, you will ensure effective and compliant payroll operations, technology, and processes.

Key Accountabilities

  • Help identify, establish, and maintain standards and procedures to manage effective delivery of United States payroll operations.
  • Utilizing deep subject matter expertise and experience, partner with stakeholders to develop and deliver compliant solutions in response to new or changing payroll requirements.
  • Provide consultation and guidance for highly complex payroll processes involving multi-state processing, payroll compliance and regulation, payroll reconciliation, and payroll controls and risk mitigation.
  • Under minimal guidance, coordinate services with the human resource information systems, program managers and technology specialists.
  • Support management of the organization's human resources.
  • Collaborate to form a key element of functional strategy through specialist expertise and insights, to ensure that the strategy meets business needs.
  • Analyze data and reports to identify and determine causes of payroll delivery failures and develop recommendations to improve organization's payroll policies and practices.
  • You will work under minimal supervision and independently handle complex issues while referring only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree
  • Working Experience with ADP, Global View
  • Knowledge of Canada Payroll processing
  • Demonstrated experience executing U.S. payroll processes end-to-end, with robust controls to manage payroll accuracy and timeliness
  • Demonstrated experience leading process improvements in payroll
