Specific accountabilities

  • Manage and lead the team of employees in charge of leasing, collection and recovery operations for office properties in Quebec;
  • Develop and implement lease administration and collection processes;
  • Ensure adherence to Ivanhoé Cambridge policies, guidelines and procedures with regard to lease administration, collection and recovery;
  • Interpret clauses in office leases and collateral documents;
  • Supervise and support the senior recovery officer and real estate management teams to minimize delinquent accounts and improve recovery ratios;
  • Collaborate with real estate management and legal affairs teams to solve problems related to recovery operations and the treatment of tenant profiles;
  • Handle problems and disputes and ensure they are resolved in a timely manner;
  • Assist team members in interpreting and enforcing lease clauses and complex cases;
  • Make sure that the proper legal and financial information is entered in the JD Edwards system for invoicing purposes, in accordance with established practices and timeframes;
  • Contribute to budgeting and year-end processes for matters related to lease administration and receivables management;
  • Coordinate tenant solvency analyses;
  • Support and provide the required information for audits regarding lease administration, collection and recovery processes;
  • Check and approve monthly reports (provision for doubtful debt and other reports related to accounts receivable);
  • Reconcile or help reconcile receivables;
  • Monitor accounts receivable KPIs for and prepare the necessary analyses for decision-making purposes;
  • Coordinate or collaborate with the real estate management team to verify sales;
  • Set up initiatives to harmonize and standardize lease clauses;
  • Act as a resource person for the JD Edwards collection module;
  • Establish and maintain ties with key stakeholders;
  • Provide assistance to other members of the Finance, Office teams, as required.

Key requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or business administration (or equivalent experience) and at least five years of management experience in the commercial real estate sector;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel;
  • Experience with JD Edwards an asset;
  • General accounting knowledge;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet high quality standards;
  • Team player with experience in training, mentoring and employee management;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken French and English required.
