You're a stand-out team player who will drive our P&C Operations strategy forward. Your internally driven passion, strong payroll and HR expertise and exceptional collaboration abilities are strengths that will be critical in the delivery of our services. Your ability to see around corners and anticipate what's to come, your proactive insights into our operational delivery and your leadership in the area of leaning out processes, process documentation and training will be critical to your success in this role. You'll also team up with friendly, supportive internal partners, including P&C leadership and P&C business partner members, our key business stakeholders, and external stakeholders, such as government agencies and legal firms, to ensure we meet our commitments.

  • Deliver exceptional team member experiences leveraging your payroll and HR knowledge to build excellence in design and support of our processes related to a team members lifecycle (hires, employment changes, departures, ad hoc changes, organization changes)
  • Create positive customer service by providing outstanding customer service for 27,000 TELUS internal team members, stakeholders and external customers across Canada
  • Bridge the gap between system and people by being the business process expert of the various HR tools we use providing ongoing coaching to our HR operational specialists
  • Bring a mindset of innovation, continuous improvement and lifelong learning by challenging the status quo and implementing process improvements, all while elevating your knowledge along the way
  • Protect and ensure integrity of our overall data through audits, automation, and a relentless focus on safeguarding our team member data

Qualifications

  • Manage service related escalations from a variety of customers and stakeholders
  • Ask why; be the advocate for our customers, the advisor to our partners, the pioneer for our team, and the ambassador for our business
  • Enhance our use of the new SuccessFactors core HR, time and payroll (EC, ECT, ECP) technology to support our deliverables
  • Ensure TELUS is compliant with both provincial and federal legislation and all collective agreement language
  • Be accountable for the accuracy, limit in use and protection of team member data within your role
  • Be part of a team that ensures all inputs and outputs of our payroll are compliant with TELUS, legislated or negotiated requirements
  • Provide guidance and education to the P&C Operations team members related to escalated issues through problem recognition, research, and analysis
  • Build strong relationships across Canada within the P&C community and represent P&C Operations at various meetings


What you bring

  • Curious mind, an appetite to learn different things, and a knack of spotting new opportunities
  • Strong HR systems experience supporting team member lifecycle (hire, change, departure,ad hoc changes, organization management) processes
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation, an asset
  • Solid communicator and excellent collaborator who can influence and build strong business partner relationships
  • Ability to manage changing priorities / tight deadlines effectively with extreme attention to detail, in a very fast-paced and high volume environment
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, overcome confusion, and simplify complex situations
  • Pro at using the different functions of Google, Excel and SuccessFactors Core HR, Payroll and Time modules (EC, ECP and ECT)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact across and at all levels of the organization
  • Coaching and informal leadership experience
  • Creative problem solving skills and flexibility to adapt in diverse situations
  • Minimum 5-9 years of HR administrative, operational and process experience supporting a diverse group of large/complex customers including management professionals and team members covered under different collective agreements in both federal and provincial jurisdictions
  • Valued for 7+ years of payroll and compliance, continuous education and experience, in both federal and provincial environments, preferably within large corporate organizations
  • Bilingual in English and French, both written & oral, required
