We are currently looking for a Payroll Administrator responsible for processing the full-cycle payroll for Canada. This person will also assist with payroll reconciliation and audits. The ideal candidate is someone who is proactive, solutions-oriented, has good excel skills and a strong understanding of payroll compliance.



Key responsibilities include:

  • Complete full cycle processing of bi-weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees in Workday.

  • Perform all payroll processing activities to ensure an accurate payroll while maintaining the integrity of payroll data and payroll related records in Workday.

  • Process request for new hires, employee changes, leaves, and terminations in Workday.

  • Calculate and prepare remittances for source deductions, garnishees, WSIB, EHT etc.

  • Responsible for the preparation of T4 and T4A.

  • Process year-end balancing, issue T4s and RL1s and complete the RQ & RC summaries of source deductions.

  • Process and submit online to Service Canada the Records of Employment (terminations, leaves…).

  • Complete Statistics Canada surveys.

  • Create and maintain confidential employee records in Workday.

  • Provide employment confirmation letters.

  • Process monthly insurance and pension billings.

  • Act as the point of contact to employee payroll concerns or inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.

  • Review and ensure compliance for payroll procedures in accordance with appropriate regulations for each jurisdiction.

  • Research best practices to identify new payroll processes and policies and ensure payroll documentation is updated.

  • Understand accounting principles as it relates to payroll and compensation related matters with an ability to create appropriate journal entries and bill backs.

  • Assist the US Payroll Administrator when needed.



The ideal candidate has:

  • Minimum 7 years of Canadian payroll experience.

  • Canadian Payroll Association certifications, valued asset.

  • Working knowledge of Workday (valued asset) or any other payroll software platforms.

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Canadian employment law, payroll legislation and accounting principles.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, demonstrating good judgment, and strong attention to detail.

  • Confidence and ability to work independently with little supervision in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent organization skills, ability to handle multiple priorities within tight deadlines.

  • Intermediate MS Excel knowledge.

  • Ability to work with highly confidential, sensitive information in a professional manner.

  • Bilinguism required (French and English).
