Department : Financial planning and analysis

Position type : Salaried

Working under the supervision of the Senior Director, Treasury Management and Reporting , you will be responsible for monitoring and generating information related to real estate, corporate and interco debt, as well as interest rate and currency derivatives for the portfolio, ensuring adherence to all applicable policies and agreement terms. You will oversee the work of professionals tasked with administering treasury systems, accounting and budget tracking and with managing the various portfolio transactions and tracking their impact on the Company's performance on an ongoing basis.

There will also be several rewarding projects ahead in 2022 stemming from the implementation of an integrated treasury management system and the automation of analytical processes.

Specific accountabilities

  • Supervise and manage the workflow of six analysts assigned to two subgroups:

  • The first group is in charge of managing and monitoring debt (external and interco), derivatives and financing deals and recording and reconciling the corresponding entries;

  • The second group sees to annual budgeting and budget monitoring operations, the forecasting of financing expenses, financial outcomes of interest and currency rate fluctuations, collateral management and compliance with credit exposure limits applicable to the Company;
  • Develop and implement various initiatives aimed at improving processes and disseminating information to facilitate adaptation to change within the Company;
  • Monitor financial restrictions for all loan and financing deals on an actual and prospective basis to ensure adherence to all applicable terms;
  • Liaise with various business units, partners and internal departments concerning changes to the portfolio managed by Treasury and ensure information is routinely disseminated to support the processes involved;
  • Oversee daily, monthly and quarterly production cycles and deadline adherence;
  • Supervise closing procedures and generate the corresponding reports;
  • Help the Senior Director carry out various initiatives related to balance sheet management.

Key requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, with CPA designation;
  • Seven to nine years of relevant experience;
  • Solid supervisory and team leadership experience;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including an advanced knowledge of Excel; familiarity with JD Edwards and treasury management systems, an asset;
  • Solid grasp of treasury and derivatives fundamentals;
  • Understanding of financial instrument valuation and performance metrics;
  • Sound knowledge of Canadian accounting standards;
  • Working knowledge of the accounting aspects of consolidation and currency conversion;
  • Excellent written and spoken French and English.
