Cost Accounting Analyst

Reporting to the Controller, the incumbent will be primarily involved in the cost analysis.


  • Prepare and analyze month end reports as well as the comparative to budgetary projections with the explanation of variances (efficiency, absorption, work orders, price variances).
  • Prepare ledger entries and analyze inventory balance sheet accounts.
  • Participate in the preparation of budgets and monthly forecasts, revenues, costs, variances.
  • Follow the manpower plan and analyze inefficiencies and productivity.
  • Track the expenses related to warranty and obsolescence as well as the analysis of the required reserve.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly corporate reports (internal and external).
  • Participate actively in the annual review of standard costs (material, labor, and overhead).
  • Prepare and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual audit particularly for inventory and gross margin

Job Requirements

  • University degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in a manufacturing company with CPA designation (CMA designation is an asset).
  • Ability to work with different teams, a strong analytical sense and autonomy.
  • Knowledge of an MRP system is a must.
  • Advanced level in Excel
  • Database knowledge is an asset.
  • Communicates easily, both orally and in writing, in both French and English.
