About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Controller to join our Finance team!

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Assistant Controller will provide general support to the department on a variety of tasks, such as preparing financial statements, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Month End Close processes for assets and liabilities schedules
  • Oversee accounts receivable process
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliation
  • Daily company banking (processing wire & direct deposits, deposits, fund transfers etc.)
  • Creating new GL accounts, new vendor & new fixed asset accounts in the accounting system
  • Preparation of payroll entries & related schedules
  • Assist with preparing audit working papers
  • Preparing Credit Applications & other miscellaneous forms

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • CPA candidate, an asset
  • Outgoing and team oriented
  • Must be very organized and able to multi-task
  • Autonomous and self–starter
  • Detailed oriented
