ACCOUNTING CLERK (permanent part-time)

Noted for its wide-ranging exploration of the natural and exact sciences, the Institute is home to over 3,800 scientists, students, technicians and supporting staff. Institute research efforts include the search for new ways of fighting disease and hunger, examining leading questions in mathematics and computer science, probing the physics of matter and the universe, creating novel materials and developing new strategies for protecting the environment.
The mission of Weizmann Canada is twofold: to raise awareness and support for the Weizmann Institute of Science in order to maintain its standards of excellence; and, to promote science literacy. Weizmann Canada is a national organization with chapters in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver and offices currently in Montreal, Toronto and Calgary.
We are seeking a permanent, part-time Accounting Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills and a keen attention to detail. This position is based in Montreal.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Clerk will provide impeccable clerical and fundraising support to both the CEO and Director of Finance.
Prepare tax-receipts for all donations
Create and run reports in Raiser's Edge, our donor database, on an as-needed basis
Reconciliations – including reconciling gift donations as per bank statement to Monthly Cash Receipt Journal/Gift Detail Summary Report
Collecting vendor receipts from team members to reconcile to monthly Visa statements and expense reports
Produce Excel spreadsheets with allocations of Visa Statement/Expense Report expenditures to proper GL account (taking into account non-refundable portion of GST/HST/QST etc. as per qualifying expenses with respect to claiming ITCs)
Ad-hoc reporting/reconciliation/analysis as requested
A university or college education is preferable
Qualifications and Experience:
Advanced knowledge of Excel
Knowledge of GST/HST/QST regulations
Knowledge of Sage Accounting
Knowledge of Raiser's Edge an asset
Exceptionally high level of good judgment and attention to detail
Ability to focus on very detailed data work where accuracy is essential
