Position Summary

Recognized as a leader of Conversational Booking & CRM applications for digital agencies that serve Professionals and SMBs, Agendize is currently seeking a full-time Accounting Clerk to join our expanding team in Montreal. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and in collaboration with the finance and accounting team in France and the external accountant, the Accounting Clerk will have functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and financial administration.

Priorities of the function include:

  • Processing routine financial transactions for accounts receivable and payable services including invoicing customers, recording of payments and bank deposits, collecting outstanding balances, processing supplier invoices and cheque requests, while responding to general inquiries from clients and vendors (75%)

  • Processing monthly closures of journal ledger entries, reconciliation of accounts on a monthly and yearly basis, analysis of bank statements and adjustments of discrepancies (7%)

  • In cooperation with the Finance and Accounting team, prepare financial statements projections (inc. cash flows) for CFO on a per-need basis, as well as quarterly and yearly reports for the external auditor (6%)

  • Processing bi-weekly payroll for North American employees, with the assistance of the Human Resources Manager (6%)

  • Assisting the external accountant with the administration of federal and provincial reports such as GST/QST (6%)

Requirements:

This is an opportunity for a resourceful incumbent with accounting and finance experience, preferably with previous experience adapting to the developing needs of a "startup" company. Specific requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

  • Minimum two years of relevant experience

  • Solid experience coordinating audit activities, accounts receivable/payable, payroll and financial administration

  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both English and French to serve markets in North America, Mexico and France

  • Advanced knowledge with MS Office Suite, accounting and payroll softwares (preferably Xero and Nethris, respectively)

  • Knowledge of Paychex (US payroll software) is an asset

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple deliverables while meeting strict deadlines and adapting to changing work environments
