We are currently looking for a full-time Accounting Clerk to join the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences to perform the following duties;
Expense Reports/Travel Advances:
• Process expense reports/travel advances submitted by staff against the correct fund, account and activity code
• Provide advice to staff on university policy related to expense reports/travel advances
• Work with staff and the McGill Travel Desk to resolve any problems regarding expense reports/travel advances
Invoicing/Deposits:
• Process required invoices through Accounts Receivable.
• Process check deposits received
• Process monies received electronically through credit card payments
• Make sure all transactions are recorded against the correct fund, account and activity code
• Work with the unit, the client, Accounts Receivable and McGill Banking to resolve any problems
Accounts Payable:
• Process vendor invoices received for payment
• Make sure all transactions are recorded against the correct fund, account and activity code
• Work with the unit, vendor, McGill Procurement and McGill Accounts Payable to resolve any problems.
Journal Entries/Inter-Departmental Charges:
• Process required journals entries/IDCs, as required, on a timely basis against the correct fund, account and activity code (FOAPAL).
Reconciliation of Funds/Fund Accounts/Projects/Events:
Other Qualifying Skills And/or Abilities:
Knowledge of accounting principles.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and initiative.
Client-focused and service-oriented with a proven ability to assist a variety of clients (academics, managers, other administrators).
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated effective communication, in both French and English
