About this position

As the Accounting Clerk/Coordinator, reporting to the Executive Vice-President of Finance , you will be responsible for providing support to the Finance Team and facilitating accounting activities within Chronometriq.

You will contribute to the efficiency of the Finance team by assisting on various accounting, clerical and operational tasks. You will be responsible for collecting and validating data to complete the invoicing as well as preparing and entering data into the accounting system. You will be an active contributor in bookkeeping, monthly reporting and reconciliation and you will be responsible for employee expenses management.

We are looking for candidates who are versatile, diligent, extremely responsible and accountable with a can-do attitude and quick on execution, and the most importantly who are looking for long term career growth within Accounting and Finance.

Here is what you will be working on:

  • Month end procedures, which include closing monthly ledgers, ensure all journal entries and accruals are posted, keep breakdown schedules up to date
  • Accounts Payables: receive, review, post and pay all invoices from external vendors and from corporate credit cards
  • Payroll: responsible for preparing and executing bi-weekly payroll for all staff members (permanent and contracts), post payroll registry journal entries
  • Bank Reconciliation: responsible for good maintenance of cashflow, cash reconciliation for all items passed through the bank accounts, make timely payments and record all cash received
  • Accounts Receivable: based on billing schedule from CRM, send all invoices to customers, record payment and follow up on negligent customers not respecting payment terms
  • Inform management and compile various reports and summaries
  • Classify documents
  • Prepare documents in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws.
  • Constantly update job knowledge
  • Perform any other task relating to Accounting

As the ideal candidate you have:

  • DEC or University degree in Accounting and/or related field;
  • At least 3 years of experience working in an accounting clerk role, preferably in a technology firm or industry
  • Bilingual; must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Tech-savvy, ability to work with latest technology
  • Knowledge of an accounting software (Quickbook is a must)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Word & Excel specifically
  • Proven ability to work autonomously with a keen sense of organization and attention to details
  • Ability to communicate and connect with key resources to gather required financial information
  • Functional knowledge of a HRIS ( BambooHR is a plus)

The following will also be considered:

  • CFA certification would be an asset
