Type of position: Regular

As a member of the Finance and Accounting department, your role will be to coach and support employees to ensure that payroll information is processed and produced efficiently and accurately. You'll also be involved in implementing best practices in payroll management.
An overview of your future role at BBA
  • Serve as a resource for payroll information in a high-volume, multi-site, multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional and international environment, as well as HR policy interpretations.
  • Ensure accuracy of payroll system platforms (ADP WFN, ADP USA) and audit employee data.
  • Coordinate the entire payroll cycle and process payroll information while ensuring compliance of all administrative and tax processing.
  • Carry out and reconcile various third-party remittances, including year-end (governments, insurance companies, RRSPs and DPSPs, T4s, R1s, etc.).
  • Administer hirings, terminations, inter-provincial staff movements, salary changes, back pay and any other payroll changes.
  • Produce government reports and other statements relating to payroll, employment relationships, benefits and taxes.
  • Ensure technical and administrative follow-up of vacations, time banks and benefits.
  • Administer benefits in accordance with labour laws, regulations and standards.
  • Improve payroll processes by implementing best practices.
  • Perform the various accounting entries that stem from payroll processing.
  • Process any ad hoc payroll or benefits-related requests.

Overview of certifications and job requirements

  • College diploma in accounting or equivalent
  • At least 10 years of relevant accounting or finance experience, including over 5 years of experience in payroll
  • Payroll compliance specialist certification from the Canadian Payroll Association
  • Excellent knowledge of Canadian tax laws and government regulations
  • Fluent in French, both spoken and written
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Major asset: Bilingual (English/French - spoken and written)
  • Asset: Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX and ADP Workforce Now
