Description

We’re seeking a leader to serve as Department Manager, Project Coordination, Management and Billing at our Mont-Saint-Hilaire office and to help achieve BBA’s operational and strategic goals. The mission of the project coordinator group is to assist engineering project managers in carrying out their routine tasks to manage the firm’s mandates. The incumbent will be responsible for managing the department’s human, financial and material resources and overseeing activity progress to achieve BBA’s operational plan and reach set efficiency objectives.

As department manager, your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Ensure department resources maintain a high level of quality in their work.
  • Actively support project managers with complex or medium-scope projects.
  • Serve as an expert for the firm’s Project Management (ERP) module.
  • Maintain and develop technical skills within the department.
  • Supervise the execution of department activities, ensure productivity and oversee adequate resource planning.
  • Identify training needs and implement and monitor development plans.
  • Communicate BBA’s vision and strategic orientations to direct reports.
  • Help achieve corporate objectives and develop the department’s operational plan based on BBA’s strategic orientations.
  • With the Practice group, help develop and implement standardized work methods.
  • Soundly manage human resources to maximize their potential.
  • Help promote the department’s expertise.
  • Promote and maintain solid collaboration among departments and regions.
  • Establish and maintain effective communications with the various stakeholders involved in the department’s activities and serve as a contact for these stakeholders.
  • Assume a leadership role with respect to health, safety and the environment within the team.

Requirements

  • Technical diploma or university degree
  • At least 10 years of experience, including 5 for a consulting firm
  • Knowledge of business processes, including billing and project management
  • Project management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix organizationBilingual (English and French), both spoken and written
