The Kativik Regional Government (KRG) is a supra municipal organization north of the 55th parallel with an operating and infrastructure budget that has grown in the past few years. We are currently looking for an energetic and motivated candidate to work in Kuujjuaq, in the capacity of:

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE MANAGER
(TEMPORARY, FULL-TIME POSITION)

Reporting to the Director, Finance and Accounting Services, the Accounts Payable is responsible to supervise the accounts payable team and daily operations. The incumbent takes necessary measures to ensure accuracy of transactions recording and works in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The duties of the Account Payable Manager include, without being limited to:

  • In collaboration with the Director, Finance and Accounting Services to enhance and communicate internal controls and procedures;
  • Monitor accounts payable activities, ensuring that all administrative and accounting related procedures and controls are observed and that assigned tasks are completed as required;
  • Establish and maintain good vendor relations and manage related issues;
  • Oversee and perform month-end and year-end close activities, including GL accounts and accounts payable reconciliation, and accrual posting and analysis;
  • Train and supervise Accounts Payable staff in daily activities and tasks;
  • Recommend measures to resolve work problems and to improve production methods including cost savings or efficiencies;
  • Monitor and update current Open Commitments (purchase orders) and manage supplier accounts;
  • Support and coordinate daily payroll operations;
  • Take part in year-end audits and other reporting processes;
  • Perform other related duties, as requested, by the supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration (relevant work experience will also be considered);
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience with a proven track record in supervision of a high volume accounts payable team;
  • Knowledge of Sage AccPacc as well as experience in municipal accounting, multi-industry knowledge and exposure will be considered an asset;
  • Strong knowledge of procurement and inventory management;
  • Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills as well as being committed to meet deadlines and achieves goals;
  • Team work and customer service oriented and ability to transfer knowledge to others;
  • Good oral and written communication skills in at least two (2) of the following languages: Inuktitut, English, French.

Salary:                        Minimum of $67,341 and maximum of $92,595

Other Benefits:         

  • Cost of living differential: minimum of $8 500/yearly and maximum of $13,599/year 
  • Food allowance: Minimum of $3 707/year

  • Statutory Holidays: 19 days including 10 during Christmas holidays
