Les Emballages Marcan is a company that has been offering packaging, sorting and storage services in the fruit and vegetable sector to its customers for over 20 years. This essential service company is currently looking for an Accounting Technician to join its Boucherville team.

Reporting to the Controller, the incumbent will be responsible for processing accounts receivable, accounts payable and collection in accordance with the company's policies and needs. More specifically, the incumbent has the following responsibilities.

Processing of accounts receivable

  • Processes accounts receivable, produces statements of account and sends them to clients.
  • Matches incoming invoices with signed purchase orders and delivery notes and verifies calculations and balances invoices.
  • Prepare bank deposits.
  • Follow up with customers on overdue invoices.
  • Answer customers' questions and ensure good customer relations are maintained.

Processing of accounts payable

  • Plan supplier payments and issue disbursements (cheques and transfers) on a weekly and monthly basis according to current policies, with the appropriate GL and sales tax allowances, etc.
  • Matches purchase orders and delivery orders with supplier invoices and verifies the accuracy of supplier invoices against purchase orders and proofs of delivery. Verifies and resolves any discrepancies before making payment.
  • Follows up with suppliers on missing invoices, purchase orders or delivery notes.
  • Answers questions from suppliers and ensures that good relations are maintained with them.

Other Duties

  • Process incoming calls at the reception desk.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements.

Desired profile

  • Minimum experience of 3 to 5 years in a similar position
  • DEP, AEC, DEC in accounting or equivalent experience
  • Bilingualism essential (French, English, spoken and written)?
  • Mastery of the Office suite (especially Excel)
  • Analytical skills, excellent concentration, learning and adaptive abilities
