This is a hybrid opportunity for those residing within the GTA and remote for candidates outside the GTA and the position reports into dentalcorp's Toronto Support Centre. Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing support on all areas within the Payroll department. As the Bilingual Payroll Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day activities and the predictive and other analytics necessary for the effective operation of a multi-province Canadian payroll.

In this role, you will

  • Assist the Senior Payment Analyst with remittance preparation (CRA, RQ, WCB / WSIB, EHT)
  • Create & maintain predictive and other analytical tools and reports to support the Payroll function
  • Complete complex calculations including gross-up calculations and exception handling
  • Investigate and resolve the more complex group retroactive payments and balancing issues
  • Review, research and respond to complete all assigned service request tickets for the Payroll team
  • Identify, implement, and document process improvements and assist with payroll system testing
  • Work collaboratively with other Payroll team members to support and share best practices
  • Execute special projects and ad-hoc reporting as assigned by the Payroll Manager and above
  • Assist with payroll training and create / update payroll documentation
  • Lead and assist in year-end balancing / reporting

What we're looking for

  • Must be fluently Bilingual in English and French
  • 1 to 3 years progressive experience in payroll, HR, or an employee benefits program role
  • 1 to 3 years experience using a Payroll Management System, specifically Workday experience would be a huge asset
  • Strong computing skills including with MS Office
  • Professional certification/designation preferred, or a willingness to enroll in Payroll certification
  • Customer focused approach with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and experience with timely solutioning of escalated issues using a ticketing system
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Self-starter and resourceful; ability to adapt and learn new technology and processes quickly
  • Collaborative, action-oriented, with strong functional / technical skills
