Job Summary

As a 2024 Business Line Student Financial Analyst - Financial Control, you will serve as a key partner to the Financial Control Team and Canadian Banking Financial Advisors. You will participate in and support the operational activities of the business unit. You will apply experience and complete working knowledge of the job and policies/practices to perform a combination of routine tasks and varied administrative/operational assignments.

Job Description

What will you do?

  • Financial Analysis: Participate in the research, analyses and accounting assessments of different financial products (e.g., Credit Cards, Investments, Loans, Mortgages, etc.) within the P&CB business. Engage in the variance analysis for the Canadian Banking Balance Sheet and P&L.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the streamlining of the monthly reporting of Canadian Banking reconciliation results in alignment with the Enterprise Attestation Policy. Participate in the review of reconciliations and attestations as part of the monthly cycle. Participate in the review of quarterly disclosures due to the Financial & Regulatory Reporting team.
  • Projects: Participate in the review of new and ongoing projects and initiatives from a risk, control and accounting perspective. Engage in the review of process maps and narratives for enhanced documentation. Participate in activities to further streamline current processes and improve productivity through automation and process changes.
  • Developing product or service knowledge and competence in tools and business processes used in the department.
  • Qualified candidates must currently be pursuing a degree in Finance or Business with a focus on accounting or financial analysis.
  • Preference will be given to candidates working towards the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA)

  • Working towards the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation
