As a member of Ottawa’s finance team, the Accounts Receivable Specialist will report to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor and have the opportunity to work with various parts of the Company, including experienced finance and operations staff. This role is designed to support accounting functions related construction by effectively handling all of the accounts receivable tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Accounts Receivable subledger
  • Process daily cash receipts
  • Analyze and reconcile complex customer accounts
  • Continuously monitor AR Aging reports and follow up on overdue payments as required
  • Effective communication with customers to resolve invoice concerns and ensure prompt payment
  • Collaborate with Controllers to forecast cash receipts
  • Work closely with operations to achieve KPIs for cash collection
  • Ad-hoc projects and analysis as required
  • Build effective & productive working relationships across business units and within the finance team
  • Assist with Accounts Payable administrative tasks

Qualifications and Job Requirements:

  • 3+ years working in a fast pace and high volume Business
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Degree/Diploma in accounting or related field considered an asset
  • Construction industry experience is considered an asset
  • ERP experience with Procore and Net Suite is considered an asset
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
