Summary

Malone Given Parsons Ltd is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented accounts receivable and payables specialist to perform bookkeeping services for our urban planning firm. You will be responsible for generating a large volume of invoices monthly (150+/ per month), processing accounts payable, assisting with collections, routine financial transactions, including cash, cheque, and credit card payments, assisting with the maintenance of all financial records, processing payroll, and generating regular reports for our management team.

Our ideal candidate has worked as an accounts receivable clerk for a professional consulting firm for one to three years and has experience preparing high volumes of monthly invoices based on time sheets. In addition, your role will require that you provide general administrative support to the Principals of the company. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generate project invoices, account statements, and follow up with clients regarding outstanding receivable balances;
  • Input and process accounts payables;
  • Record transactions accurately in the accounting system;
  • Filing and retrieving corporate records, documents, and reports;
  • General administrative support to the Controller and Principals of the company.

Bookkeeper Requirements and Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in bookkeeping/ payroll, business administration, accounting, finance, or relevant field preferred;
  • 1-3 years of Accounts receivable experience for a professional services firm;
  • Proficient with QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, and Excel;
  • Excellent written communication in English and math skills;
  • Professional level verbal and written communications skills;
  • Knowledge of payroll and bookkeeping principles an asset;
  • Comfortable learning new software and with technology.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary starting at $26.06/hr and reviewed annually
  • Extended health, dental benefits, and life insurance will be offered upon successful completion of the three-month probationary period
  • 10 days vacation included in compensation in the first 12 months of employment
  • 10 paid sick days included each year
  • A full-time, permanent role.

Location and Hours of Work:

  • Candidate will be expected to be on-site for role at our head office in Markham, Ontario
  • Hours of work: 37.5/ per week (8:30 am – 5 pm)
  • Language of work: English
