Accounts Payable Clerk

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for reporting to the facility Accounting Manager providing efficient clerical support while preparing invoices and statements, reconciling accounts and posting to general ledgers and other accounting records based on standard accounting practices.

Please note this position will take place in an office setting 100% of the time. There is no remote work available for this position.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements in the facility’s geographic location and:
    • The Global Operating System Plays;
    • OHSAS 18001: Health and Safety management system standard;
    • ISO 14001: Environmental Management system standard;
    • TS 16949 Technical Specification Quality Management System
  • Support, Foster, Promote and Demonstrate Linamar’s Core Values and Leadership Behaviors.
  • Maintain balance between customer, employee and financial satisfaction by maximizing facility/department Performance Indicators to align to Linamar’s Stepping Stool of Success Strategy.
  • Support and maintain department lean initiatives as set out in LPS system requirements.
    • Maintain department 5S requirements.
    • Department participation in Lean Suggestion program.

Accounts Payable

  • Includes matching invoices to receiving documents and purchase orders; verifying prices, extensions and taxes; G/L coding of invoices; entering approved invoices into computer; batching matched invoices for approval.
  • Month end accrual of all outstanding invoices.
  • Month end reconciliation of supplier statements and balance sheet accounts.
  • Monitor and reconcile “Received Not Yet Invoiced” reports.
  • Receive, attach and file paid invoice packages.
  • Match customs paperwork to invoice packages.
  • Prepare monthly adjustments, reversing journal entries and accruals.
  • Assist with monthly account reconciliations, and intercompany reconciliation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • Must possess a minimum of two (2) years hands-on experience in accounts payable.
  • Must be proficient in computer applications i.e. Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project (Intermediate to Advanced level).
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must possess exceptional interpersonal skills – interface with management, production workers, problem solving teams, engineering, inspection, shipping, and maintenance as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information received from the customer/company.
  • Must be well organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Must be able to demonstrate multi-tasking skills.
  • Must possess drive and motivation to continuously learn on the job.
