This is a 12 month contract opportunity

The Accounting Assistant is a critical member of the Financial Operations Team and is responsible for the accounts payable function for Royal Canin. The primary directive of the Accounting Assistant is to perform accounting and clerical tasks for the maintenance and processing of intercompany and third-party vendor transactions.

What are we looking for?

• Minimum high school education;
• 2+ years of accounting experience in a medium to large sized organization;
• Experienced in operating an accounting system;
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices is required.

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Ensuring the accuracy of financial results and the integrity of financial systems by supporting Accounting Processes and adherence to Company Policies and Procedures;
• Posting invoices, processing invoice payments, and performing reconciliations of intercompany and third-party vendor transactions;
• Champion Intercompany activities with other Mars units both locally and globally;
• Assisting with the period end close process (e.g. Accounts Payable subledger closes, Intercompany Netting);
• Providing key reporting to internal constituents using tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerBI and Mars Analytics;
• Participating in financial system core versioning testing to facilitate the global rollout of new functionalities;
• Continuous improvement of the accounting and financial recognition processes of the business, providing recommendations as required.
