Position: Nursing Clerk/Scheduler - Permanent, Full-time

On a daily basis, the Nursing Unit Clerk will be responsible for specific operations of the day to day running of the home, administration and nursing department. Our Nursing Unit clerk will be the first point of contact for the home.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist with Nursing scheduling, staff call ins and replacement.
● Perform all the office administration duties by collaborating with every department of the home.
● Manage the patient admission and discharge process for the unit.
● Use patient intake and electronic medical records (PCC) software.
● Schedule appointments, procedures, and transportation.
● Arrange Care Conferences and the home's monthly schedule.
● Minutes and note taking for all departmental meetings.
● Assist Department Managers within their recruitment processes.
● Filing and Culling of Resident charts.
● Data Entry.
● Assist the Medical Directors of the home with resident consultations and referrals.
● Answer incoming calls and respond to inquiries, or redirect calls and relay messages.
● Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
● Post Secondary Certificate in Business or office administration or related program.
● One year or more of experience in a similar position with working knowledge of general office operations.
● Knowledge of basic payroll principles, post-secondary education related to payroll administration or related experience would be considered as an asset,
● Experience in Long Term Care with utilization of Point Click Care is an asset but not required
● Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have exceptional time management skills
● Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English and French
