Role Summary

Reporting to the Controller, this individual will process the hourly employees payroll in a large organization.

Key Responsibilities

To process the payroll accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Gather the required data and input into payroll system;
  • Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and internal policies and procedures;
  • Maintain payroll related files;
  • Manage time and attendance system and absences;
  • Prepare cheque requests related to payroll;
  • Produce payroll reports as required for month-end and year-end processes.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts in the general ledger
  • Prepare and review payroll journal entries
  • Assist in resolving employee inquiries in a professional manner

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience processing a payroll in a medium to large organization required;
  • Grade 12 diploma required;
  • Payroll Compliance Practioner (PCP) certification would be an asset;
  • Prior accounting experience would be an asset.
  • Strong Excel knowledge (vlookup, sumifs, pivot table, etc)
  • Experience with ADP Global View would be an asset
