About the Opportunity

The Assistant Manager is responsible for supervision of the business office staff located across the province who are executing the payment receipting functions, continuing to utilize NSH's online payment portal for further opportunities to make it easier for NSH to collect, and other duties in the revenue cycle. The Assistant Manager of Revenue and Business Offices will report to the Manager of Revenue and will work with other members of the finance team on strategic revenue initiatives, for example optimizing payment up front for uninsured services. They will have accountability for identification and implementation of revenue opportunities, process improvement, support long-term financial planning, promoting accountability for revenues across Nova Scotia Health, priority setting and collaboration with the Accounts Receivable team to optimize processes in the revenue cycle and prevent revenue leakage. The Assistant Manager will identify, adopt and oversee best practice processes, following applicable legislation and organizational policy. The Assistant Manager will be committed to a high standard of performance and will provide day to day operational advice and support to internal customers and applicable staff, and also strategic advice and execution regarding revenue sources with a view to protecting and maximizing funding for healthcare delivery.

Please note this is a Hybrid Position and is eligible for work from home and office status.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Undergraduate degree in related field required
  • Minimum 5 years strong management and/or functional financial system experience required
  • Possesses a solid understanding of processes and key performance indicators
  • Excellent collaboration, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual thinking skills
  • Highly knowledgeable of SAP functionality for financial processes, or similar ERP/financial system.
  • Highly knowledgeable of technical aspects of SAP and how they relate to or impact business processes.
  • Experience in engaging, mentoring and empowering teams and stakeholders in a collaborative, participative manner to respond to the mission, vision, goals and objectives an organization
  • Enrolment or completion of accounting designation considered an asset
  • Experience in a healthcare setting considered an asset
  • Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain excellent customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent, full-time position, 75 hrs bi-weekly

Compensation and Incentives

$37.61 - $47.01 Hourly
