Position: Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Clerk

Location: Victoria, BC (100% onsite)

Type: Full-Time/ 40 hours a week 

Compensation: $50,000-$58,000 a year

We are seeking an experienced AP/AR Clerk to join our growing team. The successful candidate will have a background in managing both accounts payable and receivable, with a keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills. As an Accounts Payable/ Receivables Clerk, you assist the AP/ AR Manager in handling accounts payable and receivables invoices, adjusting and issuing credit memos, and processing and monitoring incoming payments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely collection of payments from clients.
  • Coordinate with sales and project management teams to address any discrepancies in client accounts.
  • Maintain organized records of all payments received.
  • Ensure all invoices are paid and filed accordingly.
  • Reconcile cash transactions regularly.
  • Address and resolve any discrepancies in the cash ledger.
  • Ensure accurate computation of charges and refunds.
  • Prepare and mail out invoices promptly.
  • Verify accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
  • Verify transaction information.
  • Schedule and prepare disbursements.
  • Obtain payment authorization for all outgoing payments.
  • Identify accounts with overdue payments.
  • Implement strategies for efficient collection of delinquent accounts.
  • Assist in other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth financial operations.

Work location:

This position requires on-site work for five (5) days per week at our office at 2657 Wilfert Rd, Victoria, BC. This position does NOT offer remote or hybrid work options.

Working Hours:

40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am- 5 00 pm

  • Ability to adopt a detailed operational approach to financial processes.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated understanding of internal accounting systems with a keen ability to adapt to new financial technology.

Professional Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • Proficiency in Financial Software like NetSuite.
  • Familiarity with the Solar Energy Systems and EV Charging industry is a plus.

Education:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree.
  • Educational Background in Accounting, Accounts Payable, or Accounts Receivable.
