Our Vancouver office is looking for a Technology Specialist to oversee the technology and support requirements for the Deloitte Greenhouse.
About the team
The Deloitte Greenhouse is a client facing space for cultivation – of ideas, relationships, and opportunities – to help accelerate breakthroughs. It is Deloitte’s innovative client presentation center and high-tech lab. In the Greenhouse, we focus on visually presenting innovative business and technology solutions, big data analytics, as well as Deloitte’s service offerings beyond our standard client facilities. We focus on ensuring a positive and unique experience, and frequently host senior leaders and business executives from our client’s organizations.
What will your typical day look like?
The successful candidate will work primarily within our Deloitte Greenhouse in downtown Vancouver. As a member of the End User Technologies team (EUT) within Deloitte’s Information Technology Services organization (ITS), the successful candidate will report to ITS management, but will also work closely with the Greenhouse stakeholders to assist in the preparation, support and delivery of client presentations and content. The role requires the candidate to possess strong oral and written communication skills as there will be opportunities to deliver small-scale presentations to Deloitte clients. The successful candidate will provide technology support, participate in planning sessions and curate our Discovery Zone space (a collection of new technologies and entrepreneur prototypes from VR/AR, AI, IOT…) for Greenhouse events. Some physical activities such as setting up, relocating, dismantling IT hardware will be required. Onsite work and some travel expected.
In summary, this is an exciting position that will allow the incumbent to present/interact with senior level business executives, while also providing the opportunity to work with new/leading-edge technology

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Produce and deliver Virtual and Hybrid Greenhouse events in online platforms such as Zoom, MS Teams, and SpotMe
- Configure, deploy, troubleshoot, and provide hardware support for Greenhouse PCs, touchscreens, smartboards, networks, tablets, and servers
- Regular system patching and maintenance, including organizing physical system repairs when needed
- Assist with access management requests to shared Greenhouse resources and administrate them
- Provide end-user support/training on Greenhouse applications and hardware
- Install and update software and hardware for Greenhouse client use on schedule and demand
- Work with teams to plan Greenhouse events, including the use of both online and offline technologies for client facing sessions
- Assist teams in modifying/polishing applications to get them ready for presentations (e.g., PowerPoint, SMART Meeting, Power BI, Tableau, Qualtrics, Klaxoon and a few other survey/poll tools)
- Confidently present content in front of/to clients and executives
- Participate in client facing sessions to drive the technology or talk about disruptive technologies and concepts from the Discovery Zone
- Work with Innovation teams to expand and create stories around the Discovery Zone – this includes connecting with the local startup ecosystem in GTA to identify candidates for potentially bringing in front of Deloitte client
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in an IT discipline or equivalent
- Some experience in providing hardware/software support in a Windows environment (especially Windows 10), with advanced knowledge of supporting Microsoft Office 365 and comfort to learn and support emerging collaboration tools
- Basic understanding of network structure and systems configuration
- Enthusiastic about new technologies and interest in researching leading edge concepts / technologies
- Capable of working with teams in varying disciplines and conveying technology needs and constraints
- Comfortable presenting to clients, in front of large groups and senior executives
- Flexible schedule with the ability to meet demanding client time requirements
- Required to work onsite frequently and some travel may be required
- Programming knowledge is an asset
- Knowledge of AV hardware (Crestron, SMARTBoard, Teams Room Systems, etc.) is an asset
- Familiarity with online collaboration tools such as Klaxoon, Miro, and Qualtrics is an asset
- Familiarity with analytics visualization software such as Tableau and Power BI is an asset
- Familiarity with VMWare, MS SQL, IIS is an asset
