PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR


Required Qualification and Skills:


  • Certification by the Canadian Payroll Association (Bachelors' Degree in Accounting or related field preferred)
  • Experience processing payroll for multiple companies
  • Excellent computer skills particularly in the use of MS Office
  • Familiarity with payroll software Sage 50
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi task
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with employees at various levels of the organization
  • Detail orientated and ability to work with tight timelines


Job Duties:


  • Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll for over 600 employees
  • Verify timekeeping reports and consult the Production Manager regarding any discrepancies
  • Record payroll data in Sage 50 and verify all amounts prior to issuing the checks
  • Alter employee tax status as needed as well as any information about withholding
  • Prepare manual checks for distribution to all current employees
  • Record employee complains, questions and concerns regarding payroll services and communicate these issues to the HR Manager
  • Maintain compliant policies and procedures for processing payroll checks
  • Prepare T4's and various payroll reports as requested
  • Prepare and submit payroll deductions and remittances in a timely manner and ensure records are up to date
  • Preform other duties as requested
  • Preparing ROE for employees
