Accounts Receivable Specialist

The Vancouver Finance department is seeking a full-time Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team. The Accounts Receivable Specialist and their counterpart are responsible for daily cash application activities and work closely with the Credit department to ensure customer accounts are accurate. The successful candidate must demonstrate their ability to process large amounts of data with speed and accuracy, adapt to changing workloads, and collaborate effectively across many departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter incoming payments in the subledger and apply to customer invoices or allocate to the appropriate division
  • Release credit holds for export orders in adherence with our credit policies and controls
  • Reconcile several bank accounts in multiple currencies daily
  • Reconcile sales invoice imports daily
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies on customer accounts
  • Prepare month-end accounts receivable reports
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical records
  • Participate in system upgrade and process improvement projects, including the testing and documentation of changes
  • Provide coverage for accounts payable and perform additional tasks as required based on department needs

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 1-2 years related experience
  • Well-developed data entry skills
  • Intermediate Excel proficiency
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Accounting diploma or certificate considered an asset
  • Previous JD Edwards experience also considered an asset
