Job Description

The Armstrong Group is seeking an Accounting Coordinator who is responsible for basic bookkeeping, reception duties and providing general administrative support to the company. As the first point of contact for visitors and callers to the Armstrong Group, you are a people-person who provides exceptional service ensuring that needs and expectations are exceeded. You thrive in a friendly, collaborative, smaller office where you have a variety of responsibilities.

You will be responsible for…..

  • Liaise with vendors to prepare, record, verify, and pay invoices, respond to inquiries and setup accounts in a timely manner
  • Prepare accounts payable journal entries
  • Review and reconcile expense reports
  • Prepare bank reconciliations for a group of companies
  • Provide a warm welcome to office visitors
  • Answer and redirect incoming callers to the appropriate contact
  • Responsible for sorting and distributing office mail and couriering of packages
  • Office coordination, including ordering office supplies and equipment and oversee periodic inventories
  • Maintain current filing system
  • Scanning and archiving documents for a paperless office environment
  • Process documentation, reports, correspondence and data entry requirements so that it is accurate, efficient and meets established business standards
  • Coordinate and resolve day-to-day team and member inquiries in a timely manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned

You will have……

  • Post-secondary diploma in Accounting, Business Administration or relevant discipline
  • Experience in basic bookkeeping and office administration
  • Experience working with multiple legal entities (15+) is a definite asset.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word). Experience with Quickbooks is an asset
  • Strong communicator; both written and verbal
  • Customer focused, tactful and diplomatic
  • Effective problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
  • Strong sense of professionalism and demonstrates good judgement, especially pertaining to confidential matters
  • Strong attention to detail, proactive and adaptable
