JOB DESCRIPTION

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK

The Finance Associate - Accounts Payable works as a member of the Finance team at Shawnigan, providing responsive financial and clerical duties related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions and team tasks.


ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounts Payable

  • Process accounts payable including monthly student billing
  • Process vendor invoices
  • Review and reconcile corporate credit cards and staff expenses
  • Schedule vendor payments by EFT and wire transfer
  • Ensure the School complies with all federal and provincial sales tax regulations
  • Assist in the delivery of timely and accurate financial information
  • Help with the preparation of month-end accruals, prepaids and allocations
  • Assist with interim and year-end audits

Special Projects and Other Responsibilities

  • Contribute to budgeting processes
  • Ad hoc analysis
  • Cross-train on Accounts Receivable and general administration, to provide occasional back-up to team positions as assigned
  • Provide team office support


REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
  • Post-secondary education in Finance
  • 3 to 6 years experience as an accounts payable clerk
  • Systems proficiency, with good Microsoft Suite skills
  • Excellent communication skills- written and verbal
  • Experience with multiple accounting systems
  • Adaptable and approachable, willing to help out our small team in a variety of area
  • Detail oriented, analytical, able to approach challenges with innovative solution
  • Excellent accuracy and organizational skills
