The firm has seen incredible growth over the last 5 years.  We have a full accounting team and administrative staff and a great office to support our continued growth. We are looking for a Manager/Senior Accountant with significant personal and corporate tax experiences to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the completion of Canadian personal and corporate tax engagements involving advice on tax planning opportunities, tax minimization strategies, and compliance issues.
  • Responsible for the review and completion of all aspects of the client engagement and the on-the-job training of other team members.
  • Prepare and complete working papers, financial statements and tax returns according to Firm and regulatory standards for clients in a variety of businesses and non-profit enterprises.
  • Work on basic tax reorganizations including engagement planning, the collection of data, and reviewing tax returns prepared by other staff accountants.
  • Set up and advise new clients and newly incorporated businesses.
  • Participate in the review of legal documents such as articles of incorporation, purchase agreements and amalgamation agreements.
  • Correspond with clients and various government agencies to address tax compliance issues and prepare responses.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • 5 or more years, post designation, of relevant work experience in public accounting with a focus in Canadian tax. Completion of or registration in the In-Depth tax program would be preferred.
  • Experience in the preparation of Canadian tax returns and compliance as well as research and documentation of tax issues.
  • Experience working with, or exposure to, accounting and tax software such as Caseware, Profile, QuickBooks and Simply Accounting is preferred.
